Meet Disco Doll Charms

Disco Doll Charms is a small, very new, one woman band located in the Gold Coast. It started two months ago when Bree started to create bespoke pieces for her friends & family which she then shared on her personal Instagram. People started messaging her with their requests and within 24 hours, Disco Doll Charms was born. The name was chosen to encompass her love for the 90’s and an Instagram was created showcasing her fun, playful designs on backgrounds of colour and sprinkles. From beaded rings to friendship bracelets to croc charms, she can pretty much create anything your heart desires. Her personality shines through the content she shares, along with the pieces she makes and you can see from her highlight reels that the Disco Doll community is growing.

WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND DISCO DOLL CHARMS?

At the start of the year I started making bracelets for my friends, family and shared them on my Instagram because I love to over share haha. I decided to try my hand at necklaces and uploaded them on my stories to sell and I was shook by the positive response. Strangers (who have turned into friends) reached out to me and started requesting friendship bracelets and gave me free reign to create. I loved the freedom to express myself through something that had meaning - lots of my designs have client’s children's names, their lovers' initials, or a meaningful charm. Disco Doll Charms was born while talking on the phone to my best friend Daniel, who is a designer, actually created the logo that night! Fast forward 2 months and here I am, having the most epic time.

Freedom to express yourself in a small or big way, it’s your choice.

YOUR BRAND IS SUCH A VIBE! HOW DID YOU DECIDE ON YOUR AESTHETIC?

This was a no brainer for me! The aesthetic is me in a nutshell - I love the 90’s, am obsessed with dopamine dressing and froth mini things. I also like to share my thoughts & feelings ( love to overshare haha) , so having a platform to share my personality & charms is a dream.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN SIX WORDS?

Spontaneous, intuitive, dramatic, playful, determined, imperfect.

Carrot juice, pickles & cheese and potato chips.

DO YOU LISTEN TO ANYTHING WHEN YOU WORK?

Yaaaaas. I have a Disco Dolls playlist on Spotify which is updated weekly (you can find this on my Insta). I froth a bunch of diff music so be warned that one week you may be listening to country love songs and the next week it could be Elton John or Matchbox 20.

WHAT IS YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL FOR YOUR BRAND?

To inspire those to choose items, people and places that make you feel good as often as possible. I want anyone that comes to my page to have a laugh, feel inspired and to not take themselves too seriously. For me, this has never been about money - it’s been about connecting with others and giving them the best experience from start to finish. I want them to light up when they open their package and feel like their piece was made for them.
