10 things that have helped increase my happiness so far this year
Updated: Oct 2, 2023
1. Going for long walks
Not just long walks, but daily movement can be easing to not only the body but the mind.
2. Eating Out
Going out with friends and enjoying yummy food has been a lovely addition to my weekend antics. Having a laugh, making memories and trying new foods is always a lovely combination.
3. Journaling and writing down my thoughts
Writing your thoughts down allows you to not only decipher your feelings, but it allows you to transfer your stress onto paper, releasing any tension or negative energy you are going through. Adding this to your morning or night routine will help with making it a regular habit.
4. Keeping my space clean
Keeping my space clean has always had some sort of cleansing effect on my mood, Its probably my low-key OCD personality trait...but regardless it has always brought me a sense of accomplishment and happiness.
5. Taking warm showers
This may just be a winter thing, but warm showers when you are feeling tired or low is always an easy win. Warming the body and having a 'self-care' moment can always help a bad mood.
6. Spending time with people who inspire me
I love every single one of you...
7. Going on weekend adventures
For those who know me, I am not the type of person that enjoys doing nothing... which can sometimes become exhausting, but also makes my weekends always entertaining and spontaneous. I recommend to do something new each weekend, you'll thank me later.
8. Spending time in nature
Nature can bring clarity and there is something about fresh air that can be so calming to the soul.
9. Immersing myself in my art
My guilty pleasure, love language and stress reliever.
10. Taking part in hobbies I enjoy
Hobbies bring variety and reduce boredom. Football for me keeps things interesting especially throughout the winter period and is also extremely challenging which keeps me on my toes constantly.
